Our business specializes in designing and commercializing integrated lithium-ion Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and software solutions for the renewable energy markets, focusing on renewable resources and electric vehicle charging solutions.
As EVO Power expands into the US and South Korea, we seek an Application Engineer experienced in market-specific solutions, working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to support sales and market rollout.
About the Job:
Reporting to the Head of Technology, the Application Engineer will focus on lithium-ion battery system integration, project sizing, technical-economic analysis, and pre-sales support. Occasional travel for site visits and industry events may be required. All employees are expected to approach tasks professionally and diligently.
Key Responsibilities:
Battery Storage Project Sizing:
Assess customer requirements and develop optimal BESS solutions, evaluating capacity, performance, and cost-effectiveness. Modeling and Sizing Optimization:
Develop models to assess feasibility and perform simulations for system optimization. Pre-Sales Technical Support:
Collaborate with sales to provide technical guidance, respond to inquiries, and assist with RFPs, RFQs, and tenders. Conduct technical reviews of contracts and sales agreements. Pre-Sales Engineering:
Develop system designs, create SLDs and system architectures. Product Training & Documentation:
Prepare training materials and conduct training sessions on battery system integration. Compliance & Regulatory Approvals:
Manage UL certifications, CEC listings, TM2 processing, and ensure compliance with relevant standards. Additional Tasks: As the company grows, the role will involve varied tasks, requiring professionalism, participation in meetings, and adherence to ISO standards. About You: Required Skills: Strong understanding of battery storage, electrical design, and EMS integration. Knowledge of UL and NFPA standards. Proficiency in energy storage software, AutoCAD, and 3D modeling tools. Excellent communication, research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Team player with customer-service focus, proactive attitude, and effective time management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or related field. At least 3 years of experience in C&I and utility-scale battery projects. Experience with grid-tied/off-grid BESS applications and fire safety standards is desirable. Hands-on lithium-ion battery and power electronics experience is a plus. Renewable energy integration knowledge is beneficial.
