Tiger Elementary Hutchinson Public Schools is seeking a Cook Assistant to join our team at Tiger Elementary for the 2025-2026 school year and beyond.
The Cook Assistant will assist in the preparation, serving, and clean-up of planned nutritional meals in a team environment and efficient manner. The Cook Assistant is responsible for providing each student and staff member the opportunity to receive a nutritious meal in an atmosphere of cleanliness, cheerfulness, and personal caring. In accordance with the District Mission statement in an effort to continually improve Child Nutrition Department services.
This position will work Monday-Friday from 7:30am - 1:45pm, 171 days of the school year. The salary range for this position is $17.86 per hour - $20.36 per hour. Salary is dependent upon education and experience.
Qualifications:
Tiger Elementary School serves students in second and third grade. Our exceptional staff provides students with consistent, research-based instruction tailored to their unique needs. Grade-level teams collaborate with specialists in Music, Physical Education, STREAM, and Art, as well as Enrichment, Special Education, and Title 1, to create a well-rounded program for all levels of learners. Additionally, extended-day and extended-year classes are offered. Tiger Elementary students and staff ROAR by being Respectful, On Task, showing a positive Attitude, and being Responsible. Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Required, hold or acquire Food Protection Manager's Certification
- Earn School Nutrition Association Level 1 and maintain.
- Paid Holidays

- Training reimbursement:
- Up to $50 per year to obtain and maintain Level I, II, or III food service certification.
- Must be able to complete ServSafe, attain Food Protection Manager's certificate and SNA level training. Ample time is provided to attain certifications.
- $350 uniform allowance each school year
