Under the general supervision of the Director of Admissions, the Lead ED Admitting Registrar is responsible for accurately registering all patient types who need services and additional duties as needed. Processes patient changes, including discharges, ensuring that all signatures, billing forms, and information are on file prior to patients' release. Additional duties include, but are not limited to, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, collaborating with clinical and administrative teams to ensure optimal patient access and care coordination, Hospital Leave of Care date and time and HOSPITAL LEAVE OF CARE discrepancy report, ER Physician report, passport report, daily/nightly census review, ADMITS, DISCHARGES AND TRANSFERS status changes, non-PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN Report- to ensure ED staff is assigning PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN, audit ER Registrar staff accounts. Lead ED Registrar will act as preceptor for new hires, cover open shifts as needed and performs PBX duties as needed.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum typing skills of 45 wpm required with ability to use computer systems required; basic course in medical terminology preferred. Previous Admissions or medical office experience strongly desired. Minimum 2 years in a lead role required.
