Today, York is one of the most innovative aerospace companies, specializing in end-to-end customer solutions and the rapid production of spacecraft platforms. York’s complete Space Segment Solution includes spacecraft production, payload integration, system integration & test, launch services, ground segment services, and mission operations, enabling customers to leverage York’s existing technology solutions to get to orbit rapidly and responsively. We’re looking to expand our team across the board.
York Space Systems is looking for a Mission Support Engineer. The ideal candidate will act as an expert on all aspects of operating and automating space hardware and working across engineering teams to lead and coordinate best practices in operations. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the space sector, with an emphasis on small satellites and small satellite components.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and manage operational software automation tools Perform on-console tasks for real-time operations and anomaly investigations for multiple missions Develop and execute procedures for mission operations and spacecraft mission planning Respond to anomalies, software issues/failures for both ground and space assets Trend and monitor telemetry Monitor health and safety of space and ground segments Support mission planning activities Communicate and collaborate with various areas of the business, technical leadership, and program managers
Qualifications
Active Secret Security Clearance Hands-on experience in space and small satellites, including satellite components. Experience in satellite operations or satellite mission planning Experience with automating satellite operations Experience with programming languages such as C++, Python, or similar Experience in overseeing and processing data from spacecraft Experience with scripting and automation tools Experience working in Linux and Windows environments Must be a US Person to be considered for employment with York Space Systems The ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance Ability to regularly work off hours, weekends and holidays; shift work required
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or relevant technical field Experienced in data-driven processes and operations to establish autonomous solutions Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills in a team environment Knowledge of developing, modifying, debugging. Experience with network administration Experience with data management General familiarity with current cybersecurity best practices
