Job summary:
nHF Controls is currently seeking individuals who can take on the role of Hardware Engineer to join our team. This individual will work in a R&D team, so a positive attitude and teamwork spirit is essential.
nResponsibilities:

- Design, simulate, and test embedded hardware systems using industry-standard tools and methodologies. n
- Generate and maintain technical documentation including requirement specifications, design files, test procedures, and production manuals, in accordance with company quality standards. n
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and industry regulations (including ISO-9001 and NQA-1). n
- Support existing product lines by identifying issues, troubleshooting, and implementing corrective solutions. n
- May provide technical leadership or supervision for specific engineering teams or tasks. n
Qualifications
n- n
- Undergraduate/advanced engineering degree in electrical engineering or other engineering discipline. n
- 10-15 years related, applicable experience of embedded system hardware: n
- Proven experience designing embedded hardware systems with a variety of processors (e.g., Intel, ARM, DSP) and programmable logic devices (e.g., FPGA, CPLD).
- Expertise in peripheral interfaces and protocols including UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, USB, and RS-232/485.
- Proficiency with analog and digital circuit design, including signal conditioning, ADC/DACs, thermocouples, and power electronics.
- Hands-on experience with electronic design tools (e.g., Altium, Allegro, PADS) and diagnostic equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).

- Strong documentation skills with the ability to create functional specifications, design reports, and validation procedures. n
- Ability to effectively identify root causes and resolve issues. n
- Familiarity with regulated or quality-assured development environments (e.g., ISO-9001, NQA-1). n
Operating under general direction, the Embedded Hardware Engineer performs a range of engineering functions related to the planning, design, analysis, and testing of electrical and embedded control systems—including FPGA- and microprocessor-based platforms. The role involves a degree of independent judgment within established engineering standards and practices and emphasizes adherence to functional precedents and internal policies. Engineers in this role can expect exposure to varied work environments, moderate travel, fieldwork, and the opportunity to contribute to diverse projects with dynamic timelines and technical challenges.
