Part Time Additional Detail Description for Candidates:
Monitor the work of contractors. Inspect and document all phases of contractor’s maintenance and construction activities to ensure conformance with contract and specifications. Operate equipment and perform heavy manual labor in daily maintenance and emergency operations. Perform special duties as assigned. How you will contribute:
Contract Monitoring : Oversee the work and response of contract staff to ensure installations, maintenance, repairs, operations, traffic control, and emergency response actions are performed correctly and in compliance with manuals and policies. Assist the supervisor with data compilation, reporting, and coordination. Emergency Operations : Operate light and medium-duty equipment and perform heavy manual labor during emergencies such as snow removal, storm debris clean-up, and accidents. Equipment and Asset Maintenance : Promote upkeep of equipment and tools, restock supplies, refuel vehicles, perform preventative maintenance, conduct routine inspections, and manage data entry and reporting. Inventory Data Management and Control : Track inventory, manage procurement, maintain control in asset management systems, and coordinate data entry activities. Maintain Documentation and Communication : Prepare and review documentation on contract activities, progress, and costs. Ensure safety compliance, monitor expenditures, and communicate with contractors and the public. Perform duties as assigned : Complete additional tasks or projects as assigned. Performance Monitoring : Record work activities, produce reports, and conduct hands-on training. What will make you successful:
Ability to collect, analyze, and report data accurately and timely. Effective verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work with contractors. Ability to follow instructions and perform complex calculations. Understanding of contracts, specifications, and regulations related to highway maintenance. Knowledge of work zone traffic control standards. Proficiency with communication devices and computers, including construction management software. Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to analyze data and prepare reports. Experience monitoring work of others. Certifications in Work Zone Safety and Erosion and Sediment Control within 12 months. Ability to perform manual labor. Knowledge of highway maintenance and inspection procedures. Safety shoes required. Computer skills. Additional Considerations:
Training or education in Transportation Operations or related fields preferred. Experience monitoring contractors or overseeing work. Certifications in safety and erosion control, valid CDL, and DOT medical card preferred. Skills in roadway maintenance and construction software.
