Senior Biology Project Manager
with critical thinking skills and a strong work ethic to join our Northern California team. This position will primarily focus on project work in the Central Valley or Bay Area of California. The role can be based in our Roseville or Folsom Office, but it is primarily a remote position. HELIX provides services including biological assessments, CEQA/NEPA compliance, cultural resource management, habitat restoration, regulatory permitting, environmental monitoring, acoustics and noise control, GIS, and air quality and greenhouse gas management for both public and private sectors.

Position Responsibilities:
Manage biological resources-related projects, from small to large, requiring expertise in local and regional biological resources and regulations
Lead project management tasks including client relations, team coordination, scheduling, work delegation, quality assurance, budget management, and deliverables
Prepare technical reports such as biological assessments, impact analysis, mitigation measures, regional conservation plans, and monitoring reports
Coordinate and lead permit applications and negotiations with resource agencies under various regulations (e.g., Clean Water Act, ESA, CESA)
Participate in business development activities including proposals and interviews
Mentor and train less experienced team members
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, or related field
10+ years of experience in environmental projects, with at least 5 years in project management
Strong communication skills and experience in technical report writing
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and client relationships
Experience with regulatory permits and agency negotiations
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree or higher in related fields
Experience with state and federal resource agencies
Business development experience
