POSITION SUMMARY
The Billing Analyst provides comprehensive support for both Professional Billing (PB) and Hospital Billing (HB) applications within the Epic ecosystem, covering all associated subsections including Claims, Single Billing Office (SBO), and key Health Information Management (HIM) modules (Release of Information (ROI), Deficiency Tracking, and Identity). This role supports projects, change requests, and maintenance for UTP's business needs, ensuring integration and optimization of billing and HIM workflows. The Analyst will engage in direct support, system configuration, implementation, testing, and maintenance to meet the evolving needs of both the professional/hospital revenue cycle and HIM departments.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Perform analysis of workflows, data collection, reporting details, and technical issues related to Epic PB, HB, and HIM modules. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues and system errors across PB, HB, and HIM environments. Collaborate with billing teams, HIM departments, and financial stakeholders to align Epic system configurations with operational requirements. Provide expertise in Epic HB Claims, SBO, ROI, Deficiency Tracking, and Identity workflows, ensuring seamless integration and compliance. Participate in change processes, implement approved developments, system enhancements, and conduct routine system maintenance across all modules. Design, test, and maintain Epic native reports and dashboards supporting PB, HB, and HIM operational needs. Communicate system changes, enhancements, and optimization opportunities to end users and leadership in both revenue cycle and HIM areas. Support upgrades, patches, and participate in testing and validation of system changes across PB, HB, and HIM. Work with the Service Desk to resolve tickets in a timely manner and provide ongoing user support and training across all supported modules. Partner with IT and stakeholders to ensure data integrity, regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA), and optimization of billing and HIM workflows. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's preferred. Certifications:
Epic Resolute Professional Billing and Epic Hospital Billing certifications required or in active progress. Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience in business analysis within healthcare IT or healthcare revenue cycle operations, with exposure to PB, HB, and HIM Epic modules. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in a related field. Epic certifications in PB and HB highly preferred. Additional bonus: Experience and/or Epic certification in HIM modules (ROI, Deficiency Tracking, Identity) is a plus. 5+ years of Epic build and implementation experience across professional billing, hospital billing, and HIM workflows. WORKING CONDITIONS
The analyst may need to travel between organizational sites. Personal transportation is required.
