Job Duties:
While there may not be an immediate need for a lecturer in every area, UW-Stevens Point (UWSP) accepts applications regardless, in order to create a pool for when there may be a need. Lecturers are hired on a per-course basis each semester, and teaching one semester does not guarantee being assigned the following semester. The teaching hours for a lecturer will vary with a teaching load ranging between 1-12 credits per semester. Key Job Responsibilities:
Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations Department:
College of Fine Arts & Communication The College of Fine Arts & Communication (COFAC) consists of three units that include both liberal arts and professional degree programs: The School of Design & Communication (Art/Art History, Graphic Design, Interior Architecture, Media Studies, Pre-Art Therapy, and Professional Communication); The School of Performing Arts including the Department of Music (Jazz Studies, Music Education, Music Performance) and the Department of Theatre & Dance (Acting, Arts Management, Dance, Drama, Musical Theatre, and Theatre Design and Technology); and the Suzuki Programs (The Aber Suzuki Center and the American Suzuki Institute) with approximately seventy faculty and staff, and twenty + degree programs, minors and certificates. UW-Stevens Point has a long history of distinguished programs in the arts and communication fields and is the only institution in the state in which all fine and performing arts programs are nationally accredited: Art & Design (NASAD and CIDA), Dance (NASD), Music (NASM), and Theatre (NAST). The college provides between 350-400 educational and cultural events for the campus and a broader community each year and is an active community partner. Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in appropriate discipline
