Regional Director and Board of Directors Position Summary The Principal role provides leadership and management over the coordination of educational, administrative, and counseling activities/services for students in a safe learning environment to increase educational enhancement, growth, and achievement for each student; encouraging social and emotional development through the achievement of academic and personal goals aligned with the mission and authoring entity for the Charter School. Lead, supervise, and manage operations to ensure the effectiveness of the school and alignment with contract(s) and the Charter Schools' requirements Plan, evaluate, and implement education programs, policies, goals, and objectives Utilize student outcome/performance data to support instructional decisions at the school Lead and oversee team Members regarding instruction, curriculum, and student performance Provide guidance and feedback to team members related to work performance (completeness, accuracy, and adherence to authorizing entity/local school district policies); evaluate and make recommendations as appropriate, and provide learning/growth opportunities Observe classroom environment and make recommendations for improvement of instructional delivery and classroom management as appropriate Conduct team meetings and attend District meetings as necessary Enforce policies and procedures designed to protect the safety and welfare of students and Team Members Confer with teachers, students, and parents concerning educational and behavioral problems in school Receive and respond to inquiries, concerns, and complaints from teachers, students, and parents Effectively resolve administrative needs Ensure records and reports are submitted as required by law and administrative directives Manage financial functions and ensure processes are performed within Charter School and IRS compliance, and documentation and reporting regulatory requirements Understand program financial reports and take appropriate action to identify trends and discrepancies Foster productive working relationships with internal and external parties. Communicate effectively with the Board on a consistent basis, providing timely and accurate information, enabling the Board to function properly and make informed decisions Plan and direct Program operations to fulfill the local Board of Trustees' approved initiatives Expand local revenue-generating/fundraising activities to support Program operations and regional expansion while retiring debt Support resource development activities to include grant writing, cultivation, and stewardship of donors; actively seek and maintain a diverse donor base while maintaining the Charter School's values Partner with the Marketing Team to implement a strong marketing/branding initiative to ensure successful promotion and fundraising of the program within the community and among interested parties Attend and maintain appropriate crisis intervention/de-escalation training and certification as defined by state and contract requirements Attend and maintain CPR and First Aid certification by a nationally recognized organization Prevent and intervene in youth altercations and incidents, using the authorized state-mandated training methods Administer first aid and CPR during emergencies in accordance with National standards Maintain appropriate certification(s) and license(s) Transport youth and may drive for other work-related tasks Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned. Requirements
Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Master's Degree in Educational Leadership or a related field Minimum of three (3) years of school leadership experience; five (5) or more years preferred Valid Florida Educational Leadership certification or willingness to obtain within one year Certification in an academic content area. High preference for experience in charter schools. Strong knowledge of Florida academic standards, school finance, student data systems, school accountability, compliance requirements, and experiential learning settings Demonstrated experience in student recruitment, staff supervision, performance coaching, and professional development Prior success in fundraising or community-based partnerships is highly desirable Familiarity with reading and math intervention strategies, including use of computer adaptive learning platforms Experience working with a school board or governing body is a plus Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to fostering a positive school culture Environmental Conditions Work is typically performed inside with rare exposure to disagreeable environmental factors. Some tasks may include potential for intermittent exposure to outdoor elements, e.g., heat, humidity, inclement weather. Some may involve working in and around moving vehicles and associated vehicle/equipment areas, where heightened awareness of surroundings and observance of established safety precautions is essential in avoidance of injury or accidents. Due to the nature and location of the work environment, incumbents must possess the ability to work with youth. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear. The Team Member is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
