This position provides technical assistance and support related to IDEA for families, schools, and stakeholders. Responsibilities include developing resources, analyzing student data, supporting compliance with state and federal regulations, and assisting in the planning and evaluation of programs for students with disabilities. The role also involves coordinating statewide trainings, IDEA State-Funded projects, and contributing to policy development and improvement efforts in exceptional student education. The duties and responsibilities include: Providing information, technical assistance, and support related to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) to parents, families and stakeholders. Assisting local schools, districts, and IDEA State-Funded projects in planning, development, and evaluation of programs for the improvement of instruction. Assisting in the revision of State Board of Education rules to ensure conformity with state statutes and federal legal provisions. The ideal incumbent must be productive under tight timeframes, balance multiple and competing priorities and maintain goal-directed behavior and performance sometimes under stressful conditions. The employee must interact courteously with others. The employee's performance and behavior must demonstrate consideration of the workload concerns of others and must not negatively affect the productivity and morale of the unit. Attendance is an essential function of this position. Minimum qualifications include the ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments and the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and written.
