Mentor and coach Commercial Directors, enabling them to succeed in contract negotiations including MSA’s, CSA’s, CDA’s and general contract terms either through consultancy or active engagement in negotiations.
Actively engage in customer business development and account management activities to exemplify sales excellence and leadership, guiding and nurturing the team through hands-on involvement allowing for direct learning and adaptation of best practices.
Partner with the Global VP Advanced Therapies to shape and execute the FUJIFILM Biotechnologies Global Sales and Marketing plan with defined goals spanning short-to-long term horizons.
Apply and adapt the FUJIFILM Global Sales and Marketing strategy across the US market, maximising penetration of FUJIFILM services and ensuring alignment with global objectives.
Lead on significant contract negotiation to meet business objectives, being present and serving as a model for decisive strategic business engagements.
Process market feedback from assigned territories to continually refine the Sales and Marketing messaging and strategy and support the VP, Strategic business development in new areas of growth for FUJIFILM Biotechnologies.
Provide impactful market support at customer meetings and conferences, enhancing the customer experience.
Drive company values across all business sectors to ensure the realization of company vision.
Support the Global VP Commercial and participate in business committee meetings with current clients as needed.
Allocate leads, clients, RFP’s (requests for proposal) or geographical areas to Commercial Directors to ensure an adequate distribution of the work load and commission potential in line with individual capabilities.
Work collaboratively with Executive Director, Commercial Development (Large Molecules), Europe and Alliance Management team to ensure that clients are provided a consistent experience and accounts are not passed between CDMs unless necessary to better support the client’s needs.
Special Features Complex customer base from very small startup biotech to major pharmaceutical companies therefore the job holder must be able to adjust behaviors appropriately and operate comfortably at a very senior level.
Be able work with customers from varied cultural backgrounds.
Able to influence Global leaders
Programs are almost always on a customer’s critical path there receive intense scrutiny from customers. Job holder must manage this ensuring delighted customers while protecting the business.
BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS: Education/Experience: Relevant academic degree, with a preference for a Master's or PhD in a related cell and gene therapy field or novel modality manufacturing.
Essential experience: 7+ years of relevant senior level business (business development, sales, marketing) experience in the biopharmaceutical area and a personal network of contacts in this industry
5+ years of experience leading teams: Capability in leading and developing a US Commercial Development team, fostering growth and collaboration.
Strong interpersonal skills to mentor and guide teams towards achieving strategic sales and business development goals.
Insight in / experience with IP and legal issues
Demonstrated ability to write clear and comprehensive business documents, showcasing strong analytical and strategic thinking.
Proven negotiation skills for handling complex commercial contracts.
Ability to influence market strategies and foster new growth areas, driven by market feedback and innovative thinking.
Proven presentation skills
Proficiency in managing sales pipelines and utilizing platforms like Salesforce for accurate data management and analysis.
The salary range for this position is $230,000 to $290,000 with an annual incentive plan. Pay within this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience.
