Purpose or role of the position within the organization ( Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities):
Assist with recruitment efforts and provide campus tours.
Duties and Principal Responsibilities:
The mission of the Student A mbassador is to serve as representative of Long Island University to prospective students and their families extending beyond leading campus tours to actively participating in the recruitment efforts of the Office of Admissions of Long Island University. In addition, it is the mission of the Student Ambassadors to familiarize prospective students and their families with Long Island University by participating in planned Admissions recruitment events and office initiatives. Job Requirements To be considered for the position of Student Ambassador, students must be a currently enrolled student registered for at least 12 credit hours for the current fall or spring term, must have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0, and have completed at least one term at Long Island University. Students must also be very energetic, outgoing, and personable. Job Responsibilities Student Ambassador Responsibilities include: Providing campus tours to prospective students and their families Attending on-campus recruitment events Serving as a liaison between prospective and current students and LIU Post Assist with inquiries via phone and in person Mass mailing campaigns, data entry and other duties as assigned by Admissions staff
