Family Office Controller Location:
Downtown Houston, TX (On-site, 5 days per week) Compensation:

Controller
to lead and manage all aspects of the accounting function across both corporate and family office entities. This is a critical role for a hands-on financial leader with a proven track record in managing complex multi-entity structures, enhancing financial systems, and implementing best-in-class reporting and operational processes. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller will be instrumental in strengthening the organization’s financial infrastructure and supporting the strategic direction of the firm. Key Responsibilities Lead all accounting and financial reporting functions across corporate and family office entities. Manage day-to-day operations, including general ledger oversight, consolidations, cash flow management, and tax coordination. Upgrade financial systems and reporting processes to support automation, efficiency, and scalability. Prepare and present financial statements, investment performance reports, and other key metrics to family office leadership. Collaborate with external advisors, tax professionals, and investment teams to ensure seamless financial operations. Support strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting efforts in partnership with the CFO. Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory standards, and robust internal controls. Drive process improvements to enhance accuracy, transparency, and timeliness of financial reporting. Qualifications 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including both family office and corporate environments. CPA designation strongly preferred. Expertise in financial reporting, multi-entity structures, and investment accounting. Experience with financial system upgrades and implementations. Proactive and hands-on leadership style with strong problem-solving capabilities. Ability to operate with discretion in a highly confidential setting.
