Southwest Virginia Community College seeks an EMS Instructor faculty member. In cooperation with the Program Director and Medical Director, the Instructor will coordinate, teach, and facilitate student learning in cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains. Responsibilities include: Coordinate, manage, and teach EMT, Advanced EMT, or Paramedic in-person learning activities. Schedule part-time instructors to ensure adequate coverage for all class and lab sessions for which they are responsible. Ensure all grade reporting, lab performance documentation, and formal communication are completed. Assist the program and medical director with curriculum development. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure college and program accreditation standards are met. This position reports to the Program Director and the Dean of Health Technologies. Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of a bachelor's degree Current certification or licensure as a paramedic Experience in emergency medicine / prehospital care. Knowledge of instructional methods and teaching experience to deliver content, skills instruction, and remediation. Proven leadership for course and instructor coordination Additional Considerations: A master's or doctoral degree Certification as a Virginia EMS Education Coordinator.
