1060 Salary Range : $175,000.00 To $250,000.00 Annually Key Responsibilities Serve as senior project manager and technical lead for solid waste management projects, including landfill siting, design, permitting, operations support, and closure/post-closure care. Prepare and review engineering designs and construction documents for landfill cells, leachate collection systems, stormwater controls, access roads, and other facility infrastructure. Act as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies to facilitate solid waste facility permitting, compliance documentation, and regulatory negotiations under local, state, and federal guidelines. Lead technical reviews of engineering drawings, grading plans, cross-sections, and aerial imagery to support site evaluations, design optimization, and construction quality. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff, ensuring adherence to best practices in landfill design, environmental compliance, and data interpretation. Support project budgeting, scheduling, and quality control to ensure the successful delivery of solid waste projects across all phases of development. This role is well-suited for an experienced civil engineer with deep technical expertise in solid waste facility design and permitting, and a passion for advancing sustainable waste management solutions. Required Qualifications Bachelors of Science degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, or related field, Illinois Professional Engineer (PE) License, 10 years of previous work experience in solid waste management, site/civil, and stormwater design, Project management, client management, proposal writing, oral, and written communication skills, capability to work well individually and in groups/teams, Preferred Qualifications Advanced AutoCAD Civil 3D skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, HydroCAD, and other related civil engineering software applications, Existing established client relationships a plus, and OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certified.
