Summary
Under general supervision by the GIS Manager, this position performs a variety of technical mapping functions utilizing GIS technology. GIS support is provided to the Development Services and Planning Office as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provides support to the GIS Manager.
- Provides GIS support to other County employees, elected officials, and the public as needed.
- Performs GIS data maintenance and creation from aerial photos, GPS data, and other sources.
- Interacts with local, state, federal, and private agencies requiring Hays County spatial data.
- Interprets survey field notes and reviews digital data for subdivisions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree, GIS Certificate, or equivalent training in the area of GIS, geography, or a planning related field.
- Two years experience in GIS, database management, cartography, or related field.
