The TUPSS Geography Information System (GIS) Specialist supports GIS and site selection teams by performing location analysis, mapping, and real estate services used in the day-to-day decision making of franchise sales development. He/She supports the real estate department's site location information and GIS databases, maintaining data integrity. This position creates reports using GIS tools (i.e., Environmental Systems Research Institute (Esri) Business Analyst, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Server, Google Earth Professional, and the internal company database) and modifies existing reports or programs based on departmental and business wide requests. Job Duties: Gathers and analyzes requirements from TUPSS real estate supervisors or other real estate or sales group members to identify the customers' expectation for mapping and GIS reports. Works with TUPSS real estate managers and supervisors to gain an understanding of program functionality expectations and output/reports. Utilizes extensive software knowledge to perform GIS analysis and create professional map documents for a wide variety of projects. Modifies, updates, and audits spatial datasets. Selects appropriate geoprocessing tools for comparative and competitive analysis and adjusts appropriately if errors occur. Creates GIS documentation of processes and procedures. Supports Custom Map Design and Report Requests: Applies cartographic skills and understanding of mapping guidelines to custom map design/s. Partners with project stakeholders to discuss project solutions, timeframe/s, and design options. Provides recommendations and presents proofs to obtain customer sign-off through project completion. Collects and assimilates raw data into reporting templates. Researches and Implements Technological Advancements in GIS: Provides feedback on current market trends, research, and analysis to provide a reference source for current projects. Performs research and analysis and continuously takes part in training and continued education opportunities to maintain GIS trends and software technology. Receives ongoing training on GIS Environmental Systems Research Institute (Esri) software to ensure systems remain operational. Partners with GIS vendors to develop application enhancements and streamline current processes. Tests, troubleshoots and resolves enhancements to ensure development meets user requirements before launching applications.
