Director of Development - Mission Advancement
Salary Range:
$110,000-150,000 Location: Administration About The Position
The Director of Development is a strategic leader responsible for designing and executing fundraising strategies to support Evergreen Goodwill’s mission and growth. This role oversees the Development Team, cultivates high-value donor relationships, and drives initiatives to secure major gifts, grants, and sponsorships. The Director will ensure diverse revenue streams while fostering a culture of philanthropy. Strategic Fundraising Leadership
Develop and execute multi-year fundraising strategies to meet revenue goals, focusing on major gifts, corporate partnerships, and annual growth. Lead campaigns, including special initiatives and capital campaigns. Collaborate with the Board, stakeholders, and volunteers to leverage networks for fundraising. Donor Engagement and Stewardship
Implement donor engagement strategies to build relationships with individual, corporate, and foundation donors. Manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects, ensuring timely follow-up and personalized engagement. Grant and Proposal Management
Support a grant-writing team and oversee proposal development. Align proposals with donor priorities and program initiatives. Team Leadership and Development
Lead and mentor the development team, setting goals and providing professional development. Foster a collaborative, performance-driven culture. Develop KPIs and monitor progress. Communications, Events, and Engagement
Plan and execute fundraising events and donor activities. Coordinate with marketing to align messaging and materials. Serve as a liaison to enhance storytelling and engagement. Financial Oversight
Work with leadership and finance to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals. Manage the department budget and analyze metrics for reports. Position Requirements
To perform this role successfully, candidates should meet the following qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred. 7-10 years in nonprofit development, with 3+ years in leadership. Proven success in securing major gifts ($50,000+). Experience with annual giving, sponsorships, and stewardship strategies. Leadership skills in managing teams and complex environments. Excellent communication skills and experience with donor management systems. Understanding of philanthropy trends and legal regulations. Physical ability to perform tasks during events, including lifting up to 50 pounds. Preferred Competencies
