Fisher College, a private four-year institution located in the heart of Boston historic Back Bay, seeks aself-motivated and creative Graphic Designer to join our Office of Marketing and Communications. This full-time role plays a key role in elevating the College's visibility and brand through the strategic development of high-quality print, digital, and multimedia platforms.
Reporting directly to the Director of Marketing and Communications, this role provides hands-on graphic design expertise and may include occasional involvement in marketing strategy support. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, detail-oriented, and mission-driven designer who can bring visual ideas to life while advancing the goals of a growing and innovative institution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Graphic Design & Visual Branding Design a wide range of creative assets including, but not limited to: admissions materials, program brochures, digital ads, event collateral, campus signage, presentations, social media graphics, and email templates. Ensure consistency with the institution's brand guidelines across all visual outputs. Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Admissions, Academic Departments, Alumni and Advancement, and Student Affairs to understand project objectives and deliver effective design solutions. Support digital and print campaigns by designing materials that align with strategic goals and timelines. Assist with photo selection, image editing, and basic video/motion graphics for social and digital use. Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Work with vendors and printers to ensure accurate production of printed materials. Maintain an organized archive of creative files and assets. Stay current with design trends, technologies, and best practices relevant to higher education marketing.
Project Coordination Assist with organizing photography, videography, and other media content for campaigns. Coordinate with vendors, freelancers, and campus stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in graphic design, Visual Communication, or related field. Minimum of 3 years of professional design experience, preferably in a higher education or nonprofit setting. Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop); working knowledge of After Effects, Premiere Pro, or other motion/video tools is a plus. Experience designing for both print and digital mediums; knowledge of digital advertising and responsive web design is strongly preferred. Strong understanding of typography, layout, color theory, and accessibility in design. Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, partners, staff, faculty, and team members, take feedback constructively, and revise designs accordingly. Excellent time management, critical thinking, attention to detail, and organizational skills. A strong portfolio that demonstrates creativity, technical skill, and experience in higher education design work.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with content management systems (Final Site), email marketing platforms (Mailchimp), and project management tools (Asana). Familiarity with brand storytelling and enrollment marketing strategies. Photography or illustration skills a plus. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
