As a Project Manager, it is essential that you possess strong collaborative communication and team building skills along with reporting, management and proven leadership capabilities. You must have the ability to work independently, collaboratively, with full transparency, as required by the client/project. In addition, you would be required to coordinate all aspects of projects with the various stakeholders in order to ensure their successful completion within the established quality, budget, time, operational and safety parameters. The successful candidate will be the Program Manager and point of contact for the transit agency.
Responsibilities Include
Lead construction meetings with client in-house personnel to coordinate the construction with other institutional initiatives Track procurement efforts, participate in cost control activities by seeking alternative designs, and review documents for compliance with client standards and site conditions. Interface with project team members to define project requirements and establish project work plan and deadlines. Create persuasive presentations that meet the project’s objectives. Qualify consultants and contractors by reviewing bids and related documents along with construction manager/general contractor. Represent client with architects, engineers, vendors, consultants, and regulatory agencies. Oversee consultants and construction manager. Responsible for project close out, permits, and warranty/guarantee to facilities operations. Perform inspections of job site conditions and project progress, as required, including after-hours and weekends if necessary. Track and report of project financials, schedules, and documentation in various systems - MS Project/P6/Unifier/e-builder/Procore, etc. a plus
Experience
Bachelor s degree, Master’s degree in Business, Planning & Design, Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture a plus Minimum of 10 years experience in managing design and construction of major transit projects. Professional license a plus 5+ years managerial experience required with demonstrated experience civil/infrastructure projects. Knowledge of transit agency operations, policies and procedures. Knowledge of project management scheduling and estimating. Knowledge of federal and state regulations, and industry safety standards (e.g. OSHA). Proficient in the use of personal computer and office software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Professional. Familiar working in proximity to active transit operations
