Job Title: Human Resources Generalist (Entry Level- minimal experience)
Company Location: Avtec Finishing / New Hope MN
Location: In-house only
Shift: Days (Actual hours TBD); Expectation: 40-45 hours per week M-F; Short day on Friday
Wage: $54,000 - $57,000 (DOQ) - Review at 60 days and 6 months
Signing Bonus: $1500 ($500 at 6 months and $1000 at 1 year); Note: Not available to current employees

We’re looking for a detail-oriented, people-focused professional who wants to gain experience in all aspects of HR - payroll, recruiting, employee relations, document control, policy enforcement, leave of absence, unemployment, etc. You’ll work closely with our Senior HR Manager to facilitate these tasks.
Perfect for a recent graduate with a focus on HR or someone who has gained “unofficial” HR experience through other roles and wants to explore the full scope of the profession. This position offers hands-on exposure to recruiting, payroll, employee relations, and HR compliance, all while working alongside our Senior HR Manager in a supportive, team-driven environment. You’ll gain real-world HR experience and the opportunity to develop skills that can launch or advance your career in human resources.

Your Prime Focus:
- Process weekly payroll accurately and on time
- Recruiting: Post ads, set up interviews, onboarding (full cycle)
- Assist employees with basic benefits questions and enrollment
- Support compliance with FMLA, ADA, and FLSA
- Monitor and enforce attendance policies
- First-level employee relations—address questions, resolve smaller concerns, escalate larger issues to the Senior HR Manager
- Facilitate quarterly drug testing
- Verify timely completion of reviews and training
- Participate in the planning of company luncheons
- Process employment verifications, child support documents, terminations, and unemployment claims
- Maintain HR records with confidentiality and accuracy
- Assist Senior HR Manager with additional HR duties as needed
Security & Attendance
- This position operates in a secure manufacturing facility —personal mobile devices must be stored during shifts and accessed only in designated areas and breaks
- Facility entry is monitored
- Attendance is critical and closely monitored
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
- College degree or 1+ years of HR experience (preferred)
- Entry-level accounting or payroll experience a plus
Skills & Traits
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to maintain professionalism and confidentiality
- We practice a firm but fair approach. Must be able to stand your ground.
- Solid understanding of basic HR best practices and compliance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Outlook, Excel, Word; as well as comfortable learning new software
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail with ability to work independently
- Dependable attendance and ability to meet deadlines
