Overview
You will be part of the G&E (Graphics and Engineering) driver software engineering team, working closely with the driver development teams on multiple high-performance graphics hardware platforms for market leading GPU and APU technology. The D3D team is responsible for delivering drivers for multiple supported versions of the DirectX API on the Windows operating system platform for the Radeon family of GPUs. You will test and qualify drivers focusing on validating accurate functionality, identifying and reporting software defects in the driver, analyzing performance, and supporting the debugging and resolution of graphics driver issues.
The Person:
We are looking for a motivated quality engineer with strong expertise in PC hardware and software configuration, PC gaming, and great communication skills. Key Responsibilities:
• Assemble, configure, and support new hardware and software products for testing, demos, and presentations
• Collaborate with development teams to create and maintain a performance lab of hardware and software
• Create weekly reports on performance and conformance tests to be presented and defended at status meetings
• Execute manual and automated driver testing and inventory management
• Report on daily testing status and results and generate problem reports for issues
• Improve lab operating efficiency by applying basic skills of troubleshooting, maintaining, and supporting test equipment
• Ability to be flexible in terms of responsibilities and hours
Preferred Experience:
• Demonstrated experience and ability in configuring and customizing high performance gaming PC hardware and software
• Demonstrated understanding of PC hardware architecture, especially in the area of add-in graphics hardware.
• Demonstrated understanding of testing ethics and procedures.
cademic Credentials:
Bachelor's degree preferred, but an Associate's degree or high school diploma with at least 2 years of work experience is acceptable in lieu of the degree.
