General Surgery opening in ILRockford, IlFull timeAcute Care/Trauma Surgeon Community Level II Trauma CenterAn established and expanding surgical group is seeking Board Certified or Board Eligible Acute Care/Trauma Surgeons to join a high-volume, collaborative team at a Community Level II Trauma Center in northern Illinois. This is a full-time, hospital-employed opportunity focused entirely on acute care and emergency general surgery (EGS) with no elective practice responsibilities.Position Highlights: Full-time schedule: 14 shifts per month, grouped into one or two blocks with weekday and weekend call shifts 100% focus on acute care and trauma surgery Handle trauma alerts and EGS consultations Patient management across 30-bed ICU, step-down, and medical/surgical units Clinic support provided by Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and elective general surgeons APP coverage 7 a.m. 5 p.m. weekdays; 7 a.m. 3 p.m. weekends, with on-call APP assistance for the OR Three Da Vinci Xi robots with 24/7 availability More than 900 trauma and EGS cases annually Emergency Department sees 72,000 visits per year EPIC EMR Must live within 30 minutes of the hospital for call response Qualifications: MD or DO, Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery Active certifications in ATLS and ACLS Eligible for or holding an Illinois medical license and DEA registration Compensation & Benefits: Competitive salary starting at $450,000, commensurate with experience Flexible insurance options: health, dental, vision, life, and disability Generous vacation and CME allowance Retirement plan with matching and contribution Coverage of professional dues, credentialing, and licensing fees Interview and relocation assistance Malpractice insurance with tail coverage Referral bonus and additional incentive potential Community Information:Located in northern Illinois, this area was recently ranked the housing market in the U.S. by The Wall Street Journal.
