Who we are looking for State Street Investment Management (State Street IM”, formerly State Street Global Advisors or SSGA) is seeking a seasoned senior leader to oversee our front office portfolio management technology strategy. This role reports to the State Street IM Global Head of Investments Technology and Business Services and is part of the GA Chief Operating Officer (COO) organization. This position will be based out of Boston or Stamford. What you will be responsible for As the Global Head of Portfolio Management Technology, you will be responsible for defining and executing the strategic vision for the tools and platforms—both proprietary and third-party that support the full investment lifecycle, from portfolio construction to implementation.You will act as a key strategic partner to portfolio managers, investment oversight, and trading leadership, while also serving as a critical liaison to enterprise architecture, data teams, and external vendors across the firm. This role requires a deep understanding of front office investment workflows across public and private markets, as well as emerging technologies including AI/ML, digital, advanced analytics, and cloud-native capabilities. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy Define and lead the global technology strategy for portfolio management platforms, aligning with State Street IM’s investment philosophy and evolving product mix. Collaborate with Investments, Trading, Risk, and COO leadership to align the technology roadmap with business goals and front office efficiency priorities. Serve as the accountable executive for the delivery, resilience, and scalability of portfolio management tooling. Engineering Excellence As the Global Head of Portfolio Management Technology, you will be expected to uphold and promote engineering excellence across all technology initiatives. This includes: Innovation and Best Practices : Drive the adoption of new technologies (AI, Cloud etc) and best practices within the engineering teams. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation to ensure that our technological solutions remain at the forefront of the industry. Quality and Performance : Ensure that all technological solutions are designed and implemented with the highest standards of quality and performance. This includes rigorous testing, code reviews, and adherence to industry standards and guidelines. Collaboration and Mentorship : Promote a collaborative environment where engineers are encouraged to share knowledge and mentor each other. Provide guidance and support to help team members grow and develop their skills. Scalability and Resilience : Design and implement scalable and resilient systems that can handle the demands of a global investment management firm. Ensure that our technology infrastructure is robust and capable of supporting our business needs. Security and Compliance : Ensure that all technology solutions comply with relevant security and regulatory requirements. Implement best practices for data protection and privacy to safeguard our clients' information. Oversee technology for the

in support of all public and private asset classes. Champion
cloud adoption,
modular architecture, and integration with S tate Street Alpha
and other strategic platforms. Execution & Oversight Lead the portfolio management technology team, fostering a high-performance culture with a focus on innovation, ownership, and delivery excellence. Manage vendor relationships, including large front office and analytics providers, ensuring robust integration, service levels, and contractual oversight. Oversee the technology lifecycle—from concept to adoption—across the platform’s global user base and various vehicles. This includes institutional mandates, ETF’s, wealth management. Change Management & Transformation Partner with the COO transformation office to embed portfolio management initiatives within broader investment and technology modernization programs. Establish KPIs and performance metrics for platform usage, model accuracy, operational risk, and business value creation. Qualifications 15+ years of engineering experience leading front office technology platforms in institutional asset management environments with deep expertise in Fixed Income and derivatives. Proven ability to drive innovation and deliver scalable solutions in complex financial environments. Deep familiarity with investment lifecycle and front office portfolio management, trading, investment oversight. Proven record of managing global teams across product, technology, and data domains. Strong knowledge of vendor landscape (e.g., Charles River. State Street Alpha, Bloomberg, BlackRock Aladdin, Virtus, Linedata, ION etc) Advanced understanding of data science, APIs, and cloud architecture. Exceptional leadership, relationship-building, and stakeholder communication skills. Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into scalable, user-centric technology solutions. Education & Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required. Experience with multi-asset class investment management, including public and private markets. Global, multi-jurisdictional experience in a regulated financial environment preferred Salary Range: $170,000 - $282,500 Annual The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified.
