Comprehensive Care
Dominican offers emergency services and is a Certified Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center. Dominicans services include the only comprehensive Cancer Center in Santa Cruz County, a Total Joint Replacement program, and advanced neurological and endoscopic services. As Santa Cruz Countys heart attack (STEMI) receiving center, Dominican Hospital provides cutting edge cardiac care. The hospitals heart attack treatment times consistently beat the national average, and the hospital offers two cardiac catheterization labs available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Groundbreaking cardiac procedures at Dominican include the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) procedure, which allows for heart valve replacement without opening a patients chest.
Dominican Hospital has forged significant partnerships with area hospitals to bring exceptional care to Santa Cruz County. The hospital offers a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) through a partnership with Lucile Packard Childrens Hospital Stanford. Neurosurgery at Dominican is also offered through a partnership with Stanford Health Care.

Beyond care inside the hospital, Dominican is dedicated to the health and wellness of the Santa Cruz community. Community programs include a Mobile Wellness Clinic, a tattoo removal program, and support groups for patients and new mothers. Responsibilities
- STAFF NURSE II performs the nursing process through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of therapeutic care for patients with overt and covert needs in supervised situations, for the adolescent, adult and geriatric patient population. Performs the nursing process for patients in more complex situations with assistance and supervision. Assists with managing the patient care administered by other members of the nursing staff. Assumes the responsibilities of Primary Nurse and Team Leader.
Position Summary: The RN is responsible for supporting efforts to improve clinical and service excellence of patient care provided. RNs must be able to identify and apply care skills appropriate to the specific patient age groups served. The RN will participate in the achievement of service targets and process goals.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Six months recent hospital experience
- Proficient in English. Verbal and written communication skills, and computer skills required.
Education:
- ASN or Nursing Diploma, required
License/Registration/Certification:
- Current and active CA RN license
- Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
- Current ACLS certification from American Heart Association
- NIHSS certification
Preferred:
- BSN preferred
Pay Range: $73.13 - $93.48 /hour
