Position Summary
The Part-Time High School Program Coordinator will oversee the implementation of HSHU's new high school initiative, ensuring the successful delivery of weekly programming and individualized support for students. This role is ideal for someone passionate about youth development, college and career readiness, and building student leadership pathways in partnership with a dynamic team.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Plan and facilitate weekly student sessions focused on academic support, SEL, and leadership development. Monitor student academic progress using PowerSchool and coordinate appropriate supports. Collaborate with tutors, volunteers, and Sacred Heart University partners to deliver high-quality programming. Support the summer volunteer-to-employment pathway by preparing students through resume-building and mock interviews. Coordinate field trips, events, and workshops aligned with program goals. Maintain accurate attendance and engagement records, and communicate regularly with families and program staff. Serve as a mentor and point of contact for high school students throughout the academic year. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Attributes
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or enrollment in education-related graduate program preferred. Experience in youth development, secondary education, college access, or afterschool program coordination. Strong organizational and communication skills. Comfort with PowerSchool or similar data platforms. Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including educators, university partners, and families. Flexible, resourceful, and committed to equity in education.
Unusual Working Conditions
Weekly sessions will occur in-person, September-May, during after-school hours (late afternoons/early evenings). Occasional weekend or evening events may be required (with advance notice).
