* Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square-foot facility that offers the latest medical programs, cutting-edge technology, and patient-focused care that includes 365 beds, 1,200+ employees and a 27-bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit.
Responsibilities
* The Histotechnologist functions as a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for pre-analytical specimen preparation and processing, embedding, microtomy, and maintaining the equipment under the direction of the Histology/Pathology department leadership, Pathologist, or designee. The position may also perform specimen grossing of surgically removed tissue under the supervision of the Pathologist.

* Other duties may arise and be carried out as assigned to meet quality standards expected for patient care.
* All duties performed will be within the guidelines set forth by regulatory and hospital guidelines to maintain, manage, and assure specimen integrity.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
* Bachelor's in histotechnology, laboratory science obtained from an accredited institution, OR bachelor's in biology or chemistry with education /training equivalent.
Preferred Job Requirements:
*
Experience within a clinical or anatomic pathology department.
*
6 months’ experience as a Histotechnician.
Pay Range Minimum: $29.48/Hr.
Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
