At Fidelity Enterprise Architecture (FEA), we are seeking an experienced Mobile Architect.
What you will be responsible for
At Fidelity, we serve a diverse customer base, including retail brokerage, employers (such as 401k providers), other financial institutions, and more. We offer numerous apps—currently 12—owned by various business units. Our goal is to unify our mobile app architecture and enable experience sharing across apps. These apps vary from fully native to hybrid/native and full hybrid, with diverse tech stacks.
This role is a hands-on position responsible for shaping the technical experience architecture of our foundational mobile platform. You will drive the vision and strategy for building reusable experiences and libraries that support both hybrid and native apps. Your work will be pivotal to Fidelity's mobile strategy, delivering industry-leading mobile applications.
We seek someone capable of envisioning and guiding our engineering and product teams to develop this new platform. You will collaborate across product areas and business units to ensure the platform is shared and adopted throughout the company.
The Expertise we’re looking for…
The following skills (not an exhaustive list) will help you succeed in this role:
- Extensive experience in engineering mobile applications end-to-end, focusing on customer experience, scalability, security, and performance
- Experience in defining architecture for mobile applications and SDKs
- Ability to decompose user interfaces and other components into smaller, reusable parts
- Proficiency in designing APIs for mobile and web applications
- Experience with enterprise API implementation using REST and GraphQL (federation)
- 8+ years of professional experience developing publicly available iOS or Android apps using Kotlin, Android Studio, Swift, Xcode
- Deep knowledge of the mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies for creating performant and resilient iOS/Android apps
- Experience with hybrid frameworks such as Ionic Portals
- Experience presenting technical solutions to leadership
- Excellent coding skills and the ability to adopt and champion new coding patterns and techniques
What to expect?
The process begins with an initial conversation with a Technical Recruiter to discuss job expectations and requirements. Next, you'll speak with an Architecture Lead from the Fidelity Enterprise Architecture group. Finally, there will be a 3-part multi-panel interview focusing on architectural solutions, technical expertise, and leadership with potential future peers.
