Summary
The Amarillo VA Health Care System - Amarillo, Texas is seeking a Home Based Primary Care (HBPC) Medical Director (Physician) within the Geriatric and Extended Care (GEC) Service. The HBPC Medical Director will provide clinical care within the GEC service line, including the Geri PACT Care Clinic, Hospital & Palliative Care Clinic, and others. A recruitment/relocation incentive may be authorized to a highly qualified candidate. Qualifications
Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens, in accordance with VA Policy. Education: Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution. Licensure: Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S. Residency Training: Completion of residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty program. English Language Proficiency: Must be proficient in spoken and written English. Preferred Experience
Board Certified in Geriatrics, Fellowship Training in Geriatrics, experience working with Geriatric Veterans across various settings, and experience in Hospice and Palliative Care. Physical Requirements
Includes light lifting, reaching, use of fingers, walking, standing, bending, rapid mental and muscular coordination, visual and hearing requirements, and stability. Duties
Provide clinical care and supervise the HBPC team. Collaborate with the Program Director and participate in academic activities. Participate in accreditation processes and provide direct patient care. Lead administrative and clinical responsibilities, including program development, staff collaboration, and quality assurance. Work Schedule
