Part-Time Position Summary:
The Receptionist is the first point of contact for residents, families, staff, visitors, and vendors at the nursing home. This position plays a vital role in creating a welcoming, professional, and organized front office environment. The Receptionist provides administrative support and ensures that communication within the facility is timely and efficient. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Greet and assist all visitors, residents, and staff in a friendly and professional manner. Answer and direct incoming phone calls promptly and accurately. Respond to general inquiries and provide appropriate information or route inquiries to the correct department. Monitor and maintain the sign-in/sign-out logs for visitors, residents, and staff. Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary forms and information. Assist with clerical tasks such as copying, filing, faxing, and scanning documents. Sort and distribute incoming mail and deliveries; prepare outgoing mail. Provide administrative support to nursing, human resources, or other departments as needed. Uphold confidentiality and HIPAA compliance in all interactions and record-keeping. Follow emergency procedures and assist with notifying appropriate personnel in urgent situations. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. Prior receptionist or front-desk experience, preferably in healthcare or long-term care, is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Professional appearance and demeanor. Ability to multitask, stay organized, and manage a busy front desk. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, phone systems). Friendly, compassionate, and patient-centered attitude. Working Conditions: Standard office environment within a healthcare facility. Frequent contact with residents, staff, families, and vendors. May involve occasional exposure to individuals with communicable diseases.
