Huntington National Bank . Description AI Center of Excellence (CoE) team is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist specializing in Large Language Models (LLMs) to join our team. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in machine learning, natural language processing, and artificial intelligence to develop and implement advanced models that drive strategic decision-making and innovation. The AI CoE team is a division of the Enterprise Data and Analytics team, focused on delivering innovative solutions and driving financial success through project-based results. The Sr. Data Scientist will manage data science projects from conception to deployment and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful insights. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the Product Owner to manage the entire model development process for on-premises and AWS cloud projects, including understanding business requirements, sourcing data, model fitting, presenting results, and production scoring. Participate in daily Kanban standups, create user stories to track project progress, attend backlog meetings, and communicate with the scrum master and product owner to resolve roadblocks. Utilize automation techniques to streamline manual processes, enhance accuracy, and develop self-service assets. Stay current with emerging machine learning and cloud trends, applying new technologies to drive innovation. Basic Requirements Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or related field. 2+ years of experience with statistical modeling techniques such as regression analysis, hypothesis testing, time series analysis, and Bayesian inference. 2+ years of experience with AWS cloud machine learning and cloud computing, familiar with AWS Sagemaker, Lambda, S3, Athena, etc. 3+ years of experience with Python (preferred) or R, Spark, and other tools. 1+ years of experience with Large Language Models (Llama, Claude, Titan), including frameworks like Langchain, embedding and vector databases, and prompt engineering. Preferred Skills and Characteristics PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or related field. Willingness to step out of comfort zones and solve diverse problems beyond traditional data science. Working knowledge of fine-tuning LLMs. Knowledge of RAG techniques such as MMR, multi-vector retrieval, RAG fusion, HYDE, self-RAG, etc. Experience with Agentic AI. Advanced AWS services experience, including Textract, JumpStart, Bedrock, etc. Additional Details Exempt Status: Yes (not eligible for overtime pay). Workplace Type: Office, with flexible work arrangements possible. Compensation Range: $155,000 - $225,000, with potential bonuses and benefits. Huntington is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
