Universal Technologies is seeking an experienced DB2 Database Administrator with deep expertise supporting DB2 v10 or higher on IBM z/OS platforms. This hybrid role supports enterprise-scale financial and payroll applications, including PMS and PPMSthe City's payroll and pension payroll systems. The ideal candidate will bring extensive database administration experience, system integration skills, and a strong understanding of IBM InfoSphere, CICS, and related technologies. Hands-on experience supporting DB2 v10 or higher on IBM z/OS platforms. Experience with IBM IMS V12 database management or higher. Ability to perform core DBA duties: backup/recovery, reorgs, and DB troubleshooting. Experience with CICS Transaction Server. Ability to author REXX scripts. Proficiency in troubleshooting assembler code. Expertise in resolving issues with DB2 embedded within COBOL programs. Ability to design solutions using Oracle Transparent Gateway. Experience designing and implementing BMC BPPM Monitoring software. Skilled in installing and troubleshooting IBM Tivoli LDAP Server on AIX. Demonstrated experience building and maintaining data propagation solutions using IBM InfoSphere Replication Server. Experience installing and managing DB2 on AIX platforms. Deep experience supporting large-scale, enterprise-wide financial and payroll applications built on commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions. Scope of Services: Support City payroll and pension payroll applications (PMS and PPMS) Install, configure, and tune DB2 databases on IBM z/OS platform Author and validate procedures for all database processes Identify and implement modifications/updates for DB2 programs Collaborate with Technical Support to deliver migration components and instructions Execute data fixes and recovery functions Perform standard database tuning procedures (e.g., runstats, reorgs) Assist in tool upgrades and participate in Disaster Recovery drills Universal Technologies is an equal opportunity employer.
