We are in search of a highly skilled DB2 Database Administrator to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and ensuring the availability, integrity, and security of our DB2 database environments. Please note: This position is on-site at our Annapolis Junction, MD location, five days a week, and candidates must be eligible to obtain a Secret security clearance. Key Responsibilities: Administer and maintain DB2 database environments, including installation, configuration, and patch management. Troubleshoot and resolve database issues while collaborating with cross-functional teams and vendors as needed. Implement and maintain database security measures such as user access controls, data encryption, and auditing mechanisms. Conduct database capacity planning to accommodate future growth and changing business needs. Develop and maintain strategies for database backups and recovery to ensure data availability. Collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries, database code, and stored procedures for better performance. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices in DB2 database administration. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation regarding database configurations and troubleshooting guides. Minimum Requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen due to Federal requirements. Eligible to obtain a Secret clearance. Bachelor's degree required; additional experience may substitute for education. At least 7 years of relevant experience. Proven expertise as a DB2 DBA, managing DB2 databases in enterprise environments. Proficient in DB2 utilities such as Load, Check, Copy, Runstats, Recover, and others. A team player who is a fast learner, proactive, and able to support mission-critical operations. Must reside within a commutable distance to Annapolis Junction, MD. Participation in a rotational on-call schedule for emergency situations is required. Preferred Qualifications: Certification as an IBM Certified Database Administrator is a plus.
