The Opportunity
As a Lead Estimator, you’ll play a vital role in the preconstruction process by providing accurate cost analysis, offering valuable insights, and helping ensure project success before it ever breaks ground. You’ll be part of a collaborative, team-oriented environment where your input helps guide strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates based on drawings, specifications, and site conditions Develop competitive bids and conceptual budgets Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and design professionals Analyze labor, material, and equipment needs Support project teams to align scopes, budgets, and timelines Identify cost-saving opportunities and potential project risks Monitor market pricing trends and industry shifts
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating Experience with various project types: retail, office, renovations, historic preservation, multi-family, and ground-up construction Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing Proficiency in MS Excel, Bluebeam, and On-Screen Takeoff Ability to interpret drawings and specifications to develop cost-effective solutions Excellent time management, communication, and analytical skills Familiarity with construction scheduling and risk identification
