Now we’re looking for a systems administrator who’s just as passionate about keeping things running smoothly as they are about life in the countryside. Your Mission You’ll be the go-to person for all things IT — responsible for a hybrid mix of Windows, Linux, and Mac desktops, Debian and MS servers, network printers, scanners on a multi-point WLAN, and a handful of custom and legacy applications. It’s a role that rewards hands-on curiosity, structured thinking, and a natural ability to communicate with people — whether they speak tech or not. What You’ll Be Doing Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot a cross-platform environment (MS, Linux, macOS) Administer Debian and Microsoft servers and services Support peripheral devices, including network printers and scanners Desktop support for 20 desktops including Macs, Ubuntu, and some Windows Oversee and update both custom-built and legacy software systems Lead and deliver one-off IT projects — from concept to implementation Work closely with colleagues to solve problems without resorting to tech-speak Document setups and solutions in a way that’s actually helpful Who You Are You’re not just technically versatile — you thrive in a dynamic, sometimes messy environment. You might be someone who: Is a generalist with deep pockets of expertise Enjoys solving weird, one-off problems (and maybe even prefers them) Can juggle old-school tech and bleeding-edge solutions without grumbling Has the people skills to support non-techy colleagues without making them feel dumb Is cool with not everything being 100% standardized — yet It’s definitely a “tinker, fix, improve, document when needed” kind of role. Maybe you’ve run your own small IT consultancy, or worked in a creative or research-heavy company where flexibility and curiosity were more important than rigid process.
