Phillips Medisize is an end-to-end provider of Innovation, Development and Manufacturing Solutions serving pharmaceutical, diagnostics and medical device customers. Our Little Rock, AR location is seeking a Tooling Engineer. The Tooling Engineer will coordinate, direct, and lead mold tooling and related activities to ensure optimum mold tooling for NPI projects which meets customer and manufacturing requirements. This may include customer interface for resolution of design issues, DFM review of components and assemblies to ensure robust mold tooling. The ability to work with other Phillips's facilities and shared resources in a courteous, timely and cost-effective manner. Working to build strong internal personnel relationships. The Tooling Engineer will also help resolve production tooling related issues. What You Will Do In Your Role Serve as a consultant to design engineering, process engineering, production, and manufacturing on all tooling related issues Design and develop mold tooling and associated tooling or fixturing Develop and establish cost estimates, project options, and design alternatives Evaluate tooling cost and timing to determine whether tooling should be manufactured in-house or procured from outside vendor Lead tooling design reviews with internal and external tooling vendors Follow up on tooling to ensure compliance with PMC standards in design, tool build, and tool build schedule Evaluate first off parts and FAI data for impact of needed tooling adjustments Develop tooling manufacturing timelines and communicate progress and/or changes on tooling to project engineer and/or program manager Actively pursue avenues to reduce tool build time and costs Determine the need for in-process inspection equipment or automation Pre-planning safety into work activities to improve performance when applicable Proactively identifies safety concerns related to mold tooling and related equipment Actively participate in continual improvement/innovation, corrective actions, and internal/external customer satisfaction for new and production tooling The Experience You Will Bring Requirements: Minimum of 4 years of tooling experience in the injection molding industry Minimum of 2 years of tool design experience Experience working with customers, engineering, and manufacturing to understand technical requirements Experience with mold fabrication and machine shop processes What Will Put You Ahead Injection molding processes experience, over-molding, and insert-molding experience Experience using SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or similar 3D modeling software Knowledge of plastics and design for manufacturability This position does not qualify for VISA sponsorship.
