Software Engineer

– Augmented & Mixed Reality (Onsite – Bay Area) Duration: 12 Months Experience: 3+ years in backend/distributed systems We're hiring a talented Software Engineer to join a cutting-edge team focused on building scalable infrastructure that powers Augmented and Mixed Reality (AR/MR) experiences for millions of users worldwide. In this role, you'll design and build distributed systems supporting the generation of high-quality ground truth data used in ML applications like depth estimation, object detection, 3D reconstruction, SLAM, and more. You'll collaborate with researchers and engineers working across machine perception, avatars, remote presence, AR commerce, and other immersive technologies. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement core backend software components Drive improvements in efficiency, scalability, and system stability Conduct code reviews and contribute to team-wide best practices Own features or components with expert-level understanding Collaborate across cross-functional teams to maintain production-grade systems Must-Have Skills: Proficiency in Python, C/C++ or Hack Solid experience with distributed systems development Proven track record improving the scalability and efficiency of backend systems Good-to-Have: Experience shipping high-quality production software Familiarity with large-scale software architectural patterns End-to-end ownership of components in a distributed system Requirements: Bachelor's or Master’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field Seniority level
