Job Title: Traveling Field Service Engineer – RST (Remote Support Team) Department: Service Reports to: U.S. Remote Service Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Position Summary / Job Scope Do you like to troubleshoot, repair, and improve the performance of equipment? If so, this is the role for you. As a Field Service Engineer, you’ll work at customer sites where you are the face of Clean Tech and an integral part of a vibrant and diverse service team. We train our Field Service Engineers to support the technology that the world relies on to ensure clean air. You are a steward of the environment when Clean Tech Abatement Systems perform to their potential. You’ll work beside global customers to install, maintain and upgrade their Clean Tech equipment, delivering world-class support for multimillion-dollar production systems. Minimum Knowledge and Skills This is an experienced-level position and will be compensated on an hourly (non-exempt) basis. You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education, projects, research, and relevant previous job and/or military experience. The following skills are valued for success: Good communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills to interact with the factory and other customers/stakeholders within a diverse organization. A demonstrated ability to troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical issues on complex electromechanical equipment. The ability to work independently at remote sites with limited or no direct supervision. Strong attention to detail and the ability to read, understand and follow procedures required to maintain and repair complex equipment. Utilize proper PPE required buy the job scope or facility and follow all safety protocols. Strong customer service skills. Personal focus on safety for the individual and those around them. Solid understanding of PCs and Microsoft office suite. Minimum Education/Training/Experience The candidate must possess at least one of the following educational or experience requirements: Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree in STEM or technical program or military service with 6+ months of experience considered in lieu of degree and/or equivalent technical degree. Technical certification or trade school diploma. 6+ months of experience operating and performing repairs and preventative maintenance in a semiconductor manufacturing or other similar industry. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering field or equivalent. 2+ years of prior semiconductor industry experience. Prior experience with vacuum and/or abatement equipment. Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities Meets regularly with immediate supervisor to establish work or project priorities. Prioritizes work schedule to complete assignments and responsibilities as assigned. Performs required preventative maintenance, inspections, modifications, and repairs on Clean Tech Abatement Systems. Serve as a point of contact for all customer service at customer’s site. Prepare and submit service reports, document service activities, recommend technical solutions, and support continuous improvement planning. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Open positions will be based out of Oregon, Arizona, New Mexico, or New York but day-to-day operations could be anywhere in the USA. Must be able to: Work in an environment with chemicals and gasses, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, and gloves. Lift up to 30 lbs., pull 250lbs. at least once a day, and spend the majority of the time (greater than 90 percent less break time) on the floor working on toolsets, walking 3-5 miles a day, and/or standing/sitting for 9 hours. Travel to and work at regional customer sites. Maintain a valid driver’s license. You may travel 100% of the time. Heavy use of keyboard.
