GovCIO is actively seeking an experienced AWS DevSecOps Software Engineer to join our team for an exciting opportunity to develop, support, and architect a government application transitioning to the AWS cloud. This temporary position is fully remote, with an expected duration from 8/1/2025 to 3/20/2026, and will be based out of Alexandria, Virginia. Key Responsibilities: Develop and design applications and modules using Java, Angular, and AWS. Provide patches, upgrades, and ensure compliance with software standards. Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, including planning, requirements gathering, testing, and quality assurance. Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, document problems, and implement preventive measures. Educate teams on new cloud initiatives, conducting training sessions when necessary. Create architectural blueprints for hybrid cloud infrastructures, focusing on AWS components. Ensure timely delivery of quality solutions that meet client requirements and budgets. Participate in defining architecture for cloud initiatives, adhering to best practices. Develop technical content, including white papers and project documentation. Debug applications, manage disaster recovery, and optimize development workflows. Implement automation for processes such as deployment and CI/CD pipelines. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, with at least 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent. A minimum of 5 years of software development experience, preferably in Java. At least 2 years of experience with solutions design and AWS cloud technologies. Proficient in CI/CD tools, such as GitLab, and familiar with Agile methodology. Strong skills in automation with languages like Terraform, Ansible, or similar. Deep knowledge of cloud architecture, including microservices and containerization. Experience in conducting end-to-end cloud migration and transformation projects. AWS Associate/Professional certification is preferred. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Why Join GovCIO?
