Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer to support enterprise-level application development for our client in the Washington, DC area. This hybrid role focuses on backend development and automation using Java, AWS, and MuleSoft, while contributing across the full software development lifecycle in an Agile environment. You'll play a critical role in building scalable, integrated solutions on cloud platforms.
Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java, AWS, and MuleSoft. Automate deployment and operations processes for cloud-native applications. Build and integrate applications using J2EE technologies, microservices, and modern design patterns. Write robust unit and integration tests using TDD/BDD approaches with JUnit. Participate in full SDLC activities - from requirements, architecture, coding, testing to production support. Ensure code quality using tools like SonarQube, and manage code with GitHub/GitLab. Attend in-person team meetings and PI Planning events in Washington, DC or Wilmington, DE. Required Qualifications:
5+ years of hands-on backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot. Strong experience in AWS services: Lambda, Kinesis, DynamoDB/Aurora, Redshift. Proven expertise in MuleSoft integration development and deployment. Solid understanding of J2EE components: Hibernate, Servlets, JMS, JDBC, SOAP, REST APIs. Familiarity with TDD/BDD practices and testing tools such as JUnit. Experience with DevOps tools and repositories: GitHub/GitLab, SonarQube. Proficient in working with Oracle/SQL databases and messaging systems like MQ. Hands-on with XSLT, JAXB for data transformation and security models (JAAS, encryption, RBAC). Understanding of concurrent programming, object-oriented design patterns, and Agile methodologies. Preferred/Bonus Skills:
Experience with front-end technologies: JavaScript frameworks, JSP, HTML/CSS. Previous work with CI/CD pipelines on AWS or hybrid cloud environments. Exposure to PI Planning or SAFe Agile framework.
