Job Summary: Join a high-performing technology team at a leading North American financial institution as a
Senior Java Developer . In this role, you will provide robust solutions to business problems using modern Java development techniques, focusing on backend system development within an investment banking environment. You'll engage in day-to-day development, enhancements, and maintenance of business-as-usual (BAU) systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Java applications. Work closely with stakeholders and team members to understand system requirements. Develop RESTful services and ensure scalability and security of services. Write and optimize SQL queries for data access and manipulation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for code reviews, testing, and deployment. Support production issues as needed and contribute to solution designs. Required Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. 5+ years of experience as a Java Developer in financial services. Strong proficiency with Java 8 or above. Solid experience in relational database systems and SQL. Proficient in RESTful API development. Object-Oriented Design and programming best practices. Prior experience in investment banking environments. Nice-to-Have Experience:
Java development in Prime Brokerage systems. Familiarity with Client BPSA platforms. Exposure to microservices architecture. Experience with React or full-stack development. Required Skills:
Java (8+) SQL and Relational Databases REST API development Preferred Skills:
Prime Brokerage domain knowledge Microservices architecture React development BPSA systems integration Spring Framework Additional Skills from Original Description:
