Edgesource is actively seeking a Java Developer to support development efforts to deliver a complete software solution. This position is for work across the cloud-based software development lifecycle (front end, back end, database, cloud deployment and orchestration, etc.). Job duties are performed primarily onsite at either the customer location in Chantilly or Herndon, VA with limited remote work capabilities. Job Duties
Responsibilities include: Working with the Chief Engineer and Technical Leads to translate requirements into user stories to incorporate new functionality into various software applications Developing custom data processing functions and applications using data libraries in languages such as Python Interfacing with numerous front-end frameworks in order to display and interact with data in various formats Containerizing Java and Python microservices and deploying to an AWS cloud environment Developing and/or integrating with Infrastructure as Code DevOps tools to support cloud orchestration of software components Leveraging AWS best practices to optimize code for cloud deployment with cost-conscious development and deployment strategies Experience developing web APIs to interface with cloud applications and databases as part of cloud native software applications Experience working as part of an agile team to deliver software iteratively Experience working with open-source Python libraries and packages to speed to software development lifecycle Building automated testing frameworks and security scanning and integrating these tools into the CI/CD pipeline Designing and implementing all levels of the solution: data layer, application code, user interface Designing and delivering APIs and integrations with other software systems and databases. Architecting for optimal use of enterprise infrastructure (cloud) and security requirements Required Qualifications
Qualifications include: Active TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance 3-5 years' of related work experience with the following: Java Springboot Management of NiFi Workflows and clusters Python Regex & Parsing Data Engineering & ETL AWS (Lambdas, EC2, EKS, RDS) Developing software within Agile methodologies Experience delivering the design and development of software applications Experience programming/coding from the data layer through the application layer, through the user interface Experience decomposing functional requirements into technical specifications and tasks Experience with software development frameworks and languages such as Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Python, etc. and data management tools such as SQL and XML Experience developing and maintaining unit test scripts Experience developing APIs and web services for integration between systems and data sets Working at Edgesource
