University of California, San Francisco Bose Lab - Specialist
The lab of Rohit Bose, MD, PhD at UCSF ( https://profiles.ucsf.edu/rohit.bose ) is searching for exceptionally motivated and enthusiastic research specialists. A practicing physician-scientist runs the lab, focusing on understanding how tumors evolve in different therapeutic environments. The lab uses clinically relevant immunocompetent cancer models to develop & test novel therapeutic strategies. Although primarily a lab-focused position, the candidate will also interface with clinical teams regarding patient data & samples. The specialist will be an integral member of the research team. Thus, the position will require a degree of independence but is still under general supervision. This type of experience is a superb preparation for graduate or medical school. This a full-time in-person position with no remote component. It is a balancing act and requires an organized person with a talent for multitasking, as there are three components: The primary responsibility is to ensure the smooth day-to-day running and operation of the lab. The secondary responsibility is to collaborate with other members on research projects. Exceptional candidates will lead their independent project(s), develop new ideas, be familiar with the literature, and participate in procuring funds, where appropriate.
