A Landscape Architect II is a registered landscape architect skilled in translating design concepts into complete solutions as part of a multidisciplinary project team. They support the Urban Design and Planning team through creativity, strong peer relationships, and a client-centered approach, developing design concepts and accurate technical documentation that align with established design principles, project budget, and timeline. Landscape Architects at this level have opportunities to grow the business by delivering impactful presentations and contributing to planning efforts across project phases.
Deliver Results
Independently lead the development of design, graphic presentations, and 3D renderings. Use design software/technology, including Civil 3D, AutoCAD 3D, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign and other emerging technologies for presentation and production purposes. Utilize hand sketching techniques to communicate design concepts. Oversee a small project team, coordinating assignments and assuring quality across all deliverables. Prepare documentation for all phases of the design process. Produce preliminary concepts with oversight and full design phase deliverables including drawings, specifications, cost estimates, quantity take-offs, technical reports, narratives, and permit applications. Prepare construction permitting documents and public agency approvals. Participate in the development of project specifications and their coordination with the drawings. Conduct field observations to monitor progress of construction. Assist others with field observation services for conformance with plans and specifications and preparation of reports as a follow up. Mentor junior team members, providing technical guidance, feedback, and support. Engage with client representatives regarding area of expertise and develop a positive relationship of trust
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture or equivalent in education and experience required for professional licensure. Licensed Landscape Architect with current license. 10+ years of post-graduate landscape architectural experience, including experience working in a design services professional office. Strong knowledge of AutoCAD. Experience producing construction documents. Strong knowledge of SketchUp, Lumion, LandFX, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
CLARB registration and ASLA membership. CSI-CDT certification. Experience working within a multidisciplinary firm. Strong horticulture knowledge. Experience in Revit, LandFX, Adobe Illustrator, Revu, RIB SpecLink, and Morpholio.
