Job Title: Integration Specialist
Department: Digital Transformation
Reports To: Executive Director of Digital Strategy & Operations
Position Overview:
The Integration Specialist is a pivotal role in our Digital Transformation Department, combining expertise in healthcare workflows with cutting-edge AI/ML-driven automation capabilities. This role focuses on enhancing patient experiences through the seamless integration and optimization of electronic health records (EHR) systems and other healthcare technologies. The ideal candidate will lead the implementation of these systems, analyze and design workflows, and develop AI-driven automations to streamline operations. This role requires strong technical and analytical skills, a deep understanding of healthcare operations, and a commitment to leveraging innovative solutions to achieve strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
AI-Driven Automation Design and Implementation
Analyze existing healthcare workflows and identify opportunities for automation using AI/ML technologies to improve patient care, reduce administrative burden, and enhance revenue cycle efficiency.
Design and deploy AI-powered workflows using workflow automation platforms, APIs, and scripting languages (e.g., Python).
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of automated workflows with EHR systems and other healthcare technologies.
Translate complex processes into efficient, scalable automation solutions and document them comprehensively.
Integration and Configuration Management
Configure, test, and maintain settings within EHR systems and other healthcare technologies to meet organizational needs.
Lead the installation, deployment, and integration of new tools, ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructure.
Develop test plans and conduct quality assurance to validate configurations and automations.
Track usage of tools to evaluate usage and costs vs. KPIs, as well as adoption outside of the Digital Transformation department.
Workflow and Process Optimization
Evaluate and optimize the performance of integrated systems and automated workflows, ensuring alignment with clinical and operational needs.
Use data-driven insights and visualization tools to monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements.
Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
Track usage of tools to evaluate usage and costs vs. KPIs, as well as adoption outside of the Digital Transformation department.
Consultative and Advisory Support
Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on AI/ML capabilities and integrated workflow solutions.
Conduct workshops to educate teams on new technologies and their benefits for operational efficiency.
Stay informed on industry best practices, emerging AI trends, and healthcare interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR).
Documentation and Reporting
Create and maintain documentation for integrations, automated workflows, and troubleshooting guides.
Develop performance metrics and KPIs to measure the impact of configurations and automations on patient satisfaction, cost reduction, and clinical outcomes.
Vendor and Stakeholder Collaboration
Liaise with vendors to ensure timely updates, patches, and enhancements to integrated systems.
Work with multidisciplinary teams to define requirements and align technology implementations with organizational goals.
Qualifications:
Technical Skills
Expertise in workflow automation platforms and integration technologies.
Proficiency in APIs, scripting languages (e.g., Python), and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau).
Experience with AI/ML technologies, including large language models and prompt engineering.
