Ford’s Electric Vehicles, Digital and Design (EVDD) team is charged with delivering the company’s vision of a fully electric transportation future. The Low Voltage Electronics Component Lead will have end to end ownership of the low voltage components in the vehicle. You will lead a team of engineers and project managers working side by side with various cross-functional teams to specify, source and verify proper operation of the low voltage components. You will lead bring-up and validation activities for each vehicle build and be responsible for overall functionality and performance of low voltage components throughout product life cycle.
Responsibilities
What you'll do...
Lead and mentor a high-performing team of local and remote engineers. Prioritize team workload, allocate tasks effectively, and ensure team members have the resources to succeed. Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team. Evaluate and mentor adherence to company standards, industry best practices, and architectural guidelines. Publish specifications for low voltage components. Ensure reliability of low voltage components through analytical and experimental means Facilitate component supplier meetings to ensure on time deliverables that meet all program objectives
Qualifications
You'll have...
B.S in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent Ten years experience in a similar role Two years experience leading a team Experience and working knowledge of vehicle electrical architecture, functional safety, and component level integration planning Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and ability to apply them to automotive concepts Proven debugging and diagnostic skills in electrical, mechanical, and software domains Strong written and verbal communication skills An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team A systems approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery execution and continuous improvement
Even better, you may have...
Master’s Degree Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related fields Hands-on experience with electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, power supplies, etc.) Experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA)
