Eversource Energy . Role and Scope of Position:
The Senior Engineer will work with complex systems and equipment, providing engineering and technical services to support our organization. This role involves designing new substations, analyzing systems, working with transformers, engineering protection and control circuits, and conducting acceptance testing and failure analysis. As a Senior P&C Engineer, you will ensure the design and operation of protection and control systems for the safe and reliable operation of the transmission and distribution system. Responsibilities include mentoring engineers, leading project teams, and supporting system reliability projects, interconnection projects, and system restoration efforts. Essential Functions:
Review and evaluate proposed changes to existing electric facilities for compatibility with Eversource standards. Create new Protection and Control system designs per standards. Specify materials for protection and control systems. Develop, calculate, and document relay settings and logic. Perform coordination studies using fault simulation software. Analyze protection system operations during system disturbances. Interface with planning, operations, and field personnel. Lead project teams and mentor less experienced engineers. Support storm and emergency restoration efforts. Qualifications:
Bachelor or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a focus on power systems. Minimum of 5 years of Protection and Controls experience. Experience with ASPEN Oneliner or similar software. Knowledge of transmission and distribution protective relaying principles. Excellent communication skills. Experience with IEC61850 protocol preferred. PE License preferred. Working Conditions:
Available for emergency restoration work. Willing to travel between MA/CT/NH; valid driver’s license required. Compensation and Benefits:
Salary range: $125,680 - $139,640. Eversource offers competitive benefits and incentives. Additional Information:
