The Electrical Designer reports to the Senior Electrical Engineer and is responsible for assisting project engineers in developing electrical solutions for design projects while participating as an integral member of the project team. Description
The Electrical Designer reports to the Senior Electrical Engineer and is responsible for assisting project engineers in developing electrical solutions for design projects while participating as an integral member of the project team.
Responsibilities
Communicate and coordinate with project team members. Assist lead project engineer with assessing lighting, power, and data requirements and providing layouts. Assist lead project engineer with completing lighting, power, data and systems layouts, details, and schedules Visit jobsites to gather required information to complete drawings. Inform lead project engineer of potential issues. Complete COM-Check calculations. Assist lead project engineer with completing addendum drawings. Assist lead project engineer with completing revision drawings and punch lists.
Education & Experience Requirements
Licensed Designer of Engineering Systems, with 3+ years of experience, preferred. Experience with Revit MEP and/or AutoCAD, required. Familiarity with BIM360, Bluebeam, and MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), preferred.
Ideal Candidates Will Have Demonstrated
Good communication skills. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Able to meet deadlines and schedules. Strong working knowledge of computers and software as they pertain to AutoCAD and Revit/BIM.
Physical Demands
Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment. Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required. Occasional travel may be required. Occasionally required to stand; walk; climb, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
