LMS Administrator Tasks: The LMS Administrator is responsible for maintaining the LMS system configuration and health for both internal and external customers. Additional tasks include helping LMS coordinators with daily activities such as course entry, scheduling, and student management. The LMS administrator needs to understand all of these course-related functions. Specifically, the LMS Administrator's tasks include: LMS system configuration, Domain configuration, Entry and management of Roles and Permissions, Report & Dashboard definitions, Management of daily feeds from HRIS, System backups and restores, Management of LMS updates / upgrades. Interfacing with CMSU IT to maintain the underlying server health and configuration. Joint responsibility with CMSU IT regarding LMS security issues. Maintain accurate group of general users (e.g. pruning out in-active users).
Maintain the admin group of users, Maintain the backup LMS instance (NPROD), keeping it in reasonable synchronization with the product LMS instance (PROD). Create additional LMS configurations.
The LMS Administrator is a key escalation point for LMS-related support issues and includes: The first point of contact for regular LMS users with LMS problems will be the CMSU IT Help Desk. Questions not able to be answered by the IT Help Desk are escalated to the LMS Administrator. The first point of contact for LMS managers with product support questions is the LMS administrator. The LMS administrator is the primary person responsible for interfacing with CMSU IT and with the LMS vendor for questions requiring further escalation. Maintenance of database of product questions and answers. Ability to troubleshoot problems with a complex software application such as the LMS.
Home-page feed manager: Manages the posting and editing of content in the LMS home page feeds and general announcements.
The LMS Administrator is responsible for the creation and management of CMSU-specific LMS administration documentation.
The LMS Administrator must be able to work closely with all LMS contributors and stakeholders, requiring strong inter-personal skills. This includes close collaboration with members of the CMSU education team and frequent interaction with several other CMSU sections, departments, partners, and divisions.
The LMS Administrator may also work on special projects and perform all other duties as assigned based upon their LMS subject matter expertise.
Generally managed; activities are governed by general department and/or company rules and procedures or schedules and are sometimes monitored.
QUALIFICATIONS Broad knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, networking principles, web application principles
Knowledge of software configuration and problem solving skills
Ability to train users and work cooperatively with others
Effective writing and verbal communication skills
Ability to multitask while handling detail oriented work
4 Year Bachelor's Degree preferred, or relevant experience with computer apps, ops and systems
Min. 3 years experience working with computer applications, operations and systems
5 years Experience managing Learning Management Systems preferred
Pay Information (DOE) Min. $67,900 to Max. $109,200
